Getting the right fit for your waist beads starts with one simple step: measuring. Whether you're ordering tie-on beads or twist clasp beads, knowing your measurements ensures your strand sits exactly where you want it — and feels comfortable all day long.
What You'll Need
Just a soft fabric measuring tape (the kind used for sewing). If you don't have one, a piece of string and a ruler work just as well.
Step 1: Decide Where You Want to Wear Your Beads
Waist beads can be worn at different points on your body:
- Natural waist — the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above your belly button
- Belly/navel — right at or just below the belly button
- Low hip — across the widest part of your hips
There's no right or wrong — it's entirely your preference! Many women wear multiple strands at different positions.
Step 2: Take Your Measurement
Wrap the measuring tape around the area where you'd like your beads to sit. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug against your skin — but not tight. You should be able to slip two fingers underneath comfortably.
Note the measurement in inches.
Step 3: Order the Right Size
Use your measurement to select your size when ordering. If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up — tie-on beads can always be tied a little looser, and twist clasp beads are adjustable.
Tips for the Best Fit
- Measure in the morning before eating for the most consistent result
- For tie-on beads, add 2–3 inches to your measurement so you have enough string to tie a secure knot
- If you're ordering as a gift and don't know the recipient's size, our twist clasp beads are the most flexible option
